We just got back this past week from an AMAZING trip to Niagara Falls, Boston, Concord, and Salem. Tim, I, and a few of our friends drove (19 hours there!!! In a small, crowded car!!!) there for PAX, which I do believe is the second largest video game convention in the U.S. (first is E3). My friend Heather and I caught the nerd flu from the trip. Once I'm feeling better, I'll post more from the trip :)
This was at the beginning of the trip around 3am when we were super excited...ask us again 15 hours later into the drive and it'd probably be a different answer lol
made a pit stop at Niagara Falls
Testing out a game at PAX
Walking through Paul Revere's house...I got the coolest feeling walking on these stairs-SO MUCH HISTORY. Paul Revere walked on these same steps. Holy crap.
At the Granary Burying Ground. Lots of famous people buried here. BUT....I'm apparently an IDIOT and just now found out that Benjamin Franklin is NOT buried here, it's just a memorial. Good grief. Apparently I'm not such a great history nerd.
 Quincy Market
Me, you know, hanging out at the Boston Massacre site.
A picture of Heather and I at an Irish pub for the two seconds we were there. We found out they didn't serve food. What???!!!
We then proceeded to the Intermission Tavern where we had delicious crab cakes and clam chowder. Mmmmmmmmmm....
Trying scallops for the first time...slightly weird. I would have seasoned them more.
Tim got his burger CRUNCHIFIED (potato chips on top) at Bobby's Flay's Burger Palace. I personally thought the burger looked pathetic-I mean, I expected more from Bobby Flay. But, Tim said the meat was delicious.
My $40 worth of candy from Ye Olde Pepper Candy Companie, the U.S.' oldest candy store.
Friendship in Salem-such a cool ship.
Wynott's Wands in Salem-store for any Harry Potter nerd!!!
Salem Witch Trials Memorial/Old Burying Point

I highly recommend going to Boston/Salem. There's history around every corner-you can feel it!

It was SO nice getting away for a while. Our next big trip will probably be our honeymoon next fall; however, even getting away for just the weekend is SUCH a good idea. This trip we took was with friends-I'd like to plan a trip for just Tim and I. Somewhere for the weekend. Any ideas?

Micah Nathaniel

Born February 20, 2013, at 1:50pm; 8 pounds, 9 ounces; 21 inches long :)

Mommy did awesome-completely natural. I'm so proud of her. And Sam is awesome too-he stayed awake ALMOST the whole time (Rebecca said he was holding her hand at one point when she was in the middle of a contraction, and his hand went limp. He had fallen asleep lol). My mom was in the delivery room with them, and she said Sam stayed completely calm too, which helped a lot.
Can you tell he's going to be spoiled rotten by me??? I CAN'T WAIT!

homemade cheese-nips

Recipe can be found HERE

Our cat is OBSESSED with cheese. Especially mozzarella. Weird?
MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LEAVE THEM IN TOO LONG. YOU WILL BURN THEM. AND THEY WILL NOT TASTE GOOD…I know from experience :) BUT-you can't take them out TOO early, or else they'll be soft. I suppose you need good timing skills. Or an oven that cooks evenly...

you give a man a camera...

and you'll end up with pictures like this...
this...
and this…all super dark. And I love the last one, eyes shut :) And of course he said "oh yes, they turned out fine" lol
Nevertheless, I'm super thrilled with what's IN the pictures: my Retina display MacBook Pro!!! I decided to pay the big bucks for a laptop that won't get viruses, never overheats, has AMAZING graphics, and is small enough to take while on vacation :) I love it. The one thing I wish it had was a cd slot, but I'm pretty sure all laptops are getting rid of that to keep with the times. Now you have to get DVDs with ultraviolet crap on them. Oh well :) I ordered it using their credit card system through Barclay-NO INTEREST for 12 months, minimum payment $20. Not bad, not bad at all, as long as you pay it off in that time period :)
And of course, if you have a cat, you know how they love getting into everything new :)
Sooooooooooo…I bought this. Collector's edition, the first day it came out lol. I am slightly embarrassed to say that I LOVE Twilight, but if you've read the books, I'm sure you feel the same way. The books are awesome, the movies? Not so much; however, the last two weren't bad. Especially the last one. I saw it in theatre with a couple of friends; and when that part happened, YOU KNOW which part I'm talking about, I, out loud, was like "WHAT?????" There was a whole room full of upset women lol :) Anyway, so Tim had surprised me before Christmas with ALL OF THE BLURAYS, so I had to get this one to make the set complete, right? The week before he bought them, I had borrowed the books and movies from a friend-I read the books through twice and watched the movies twice. He could tell I was obsessed, but was nice enough to BARELY make fun of me :) It was such a surprise when I came home and he had bought them :) He just does stuff like that. It's one of his qualities I absolutely love :)
Tim's parents gave us a gift card to Outback Steakhouse. Yum. And Tim just LOVES getting his picture taken… We got the Bloomin' Onion for an appetizer, which was okay, in my opinion. I hate horseradish, which was in the sauce. Tim LOVED it, thus resulting in him eating 3/4 of it lol. AND he completely finished his burger and fries too. Guys are lucky they can eat so much. I must have a really small stomach. I'd love to stretch it so I could eat all day long :)
I had coconut shrimp, which was delicious; however, I hated that sauce. There was horseradish in it-I wonder if they use horseradish in practically every sauce? I could have gone for, oh, I don't know, a cup of butter? :)
I raved about that warm honey wheat bread, and our waitress was nice enough to sneak in an extra loaf ! Yes, she got a bigger tip :) I was disappointed though when I warmed it up at home. It just didn't taste the same. I suppose that's the kind of food that tastes good only warmed up the first time. Pretty sure that means its not good for you :)
There was a GORGEOUS sunset driving home. This picture doesn't do it justice at all. It was an awesome day though-Tim and I found some clothes we needed for our upcoming trip to Boston, and we got to eat out, which doesn't happen anymore now that we're super careful with our money. I love our date days :)
